Yes I’m still here… just haven’t made the effort to bore you all with my mundane life! Will be back soon though

Haven’t Forgotten!!

Not Been Here For A While!
Well, to all the people who actually read this – hello!
I haven’t been here for a while as other things have been taking my attention. Unfortunately my mother-in-law has been diagnosed with a different type of cancer after coming through breast cancer last year – who said life was fair?
She starts her chemo this week and we’re all behind her – the positive comments from us and everyone on the holiday park have seemed to work as she is looking a bit better recently.
Christmas and new year were two completely different ends to the spectrum! Christmas was like paddington station this year. We had 2 sets of parents, 5 siblings, 1 in-law, 3 nieces and nephews and a few friends. It was brilliant! The whole house was manic and I wouldn’t have swapped it for the world! New year, however, was a bit different! Me, Manda, (Abs was asleep!) and a bottle of wine. Elton John crooning away on ITV and a free-for-all on BBC1. We barely made the fireworks on TV!! Lets hope 2009 will be a good year.
I must admit I’m keeping my facebook up to date more than this because, in fact, more people look at my facebook than this!!! But I’ll try and leave a few comments when I can!
So, until the next update
Cheers 4 now!!

Amazing Jersey!
Well, I know it’s been a while since my last post, but nothing much of interest has actually happened. I learned how facebook works (I know – I must be the only person to have left it this late to sign up!!!), but everything else was just ticking along.
Then I wangled some time off work & came to Jersey with Mum & Dad. I’ve never been before & everyone seems to say how fantastic it is. Well, I now agree.
It’s like some one has taken the finer points of Cornwall and merged it with the finer points of Northern France. I love it already! For such a small island there is soooooooo much to do. I’ve been like a whirlwind (I’m only here for 4 days) and still there is so much I’ll have to leave until another time. 4 days at a time is enough I think purely for the fact that I miss my girls!
I’ll post some pictures either here or on facebook when I get back, but it will be difficult to single out the few best ones. There are too many!
The hotel we are staying in is ‘Les Charrieres’ which is an excellent country hotel. There is free wifi access in the lounge & bar, but I’ve found if I open the door to the balcony & hang the wireless adapter out on the balcony I can get a signal even from my upstairs room!!!
Anyway, that’s enough for now, no doubt I’ll posting another one soon!

And I Must Also Thank….
Many thanks also to Danni Kilford, the wonderful mobile hairdresser from Praze (07738 372774) who not only did a great job, but waived her fee for the charity.
Once again, thank you.
…And So The ‘Hippy’ Is No More…
It’s gone. 2 years worth. Gone. The flowing locks are no more. BUT! What a fantastic thing – through peoples generosity and sponsorship I managed to raise a massive £139 for The Little Princess Trust, the charity I mentioned in my previous post.
I know I hardly get any readers of this blog (if any!), but I would like to publicly thank each and every one of those people who sponsored me. Regardless of whether it was £2, £5 or £10 – the fact is that £139 is a hell of a lot of money and I am so pleased with how generous people have been. Thank you all.

The Hair, Oh God, The Hair!!!
The time has come. 2 years after the last cut, it’s time. This time Monday night I shall be cold, no long locks to protect me from the elements! I decided that my long hair took so long to grow that I should celebrate the occasion and not let it go unnoticed leaving my hair on the floor of a barbers shop.
I found a charity online, http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk which was set up by parents of a little girl, Hannah, who died from a tumour not before losing her hair. They accept donations, as any charity does, but they also accept hair donations to be made into wigs for children with cancer & other hair losing diseases.
This is where my hair is destined to go! I’ve also got quite a few sponsors to accompany it and should reach the £100 mark when I have it cut!
A big thank you to all of you who have sponsored me, and I will be seeing you “sans locks” after Monday!!
Back to Cymru!
Well, the holiday is over (boo!) but the fun remains!! I’m off back to Wales this weekend with my ticket for the world cup qualifier against Azerbaijan at the Millennium Stadium. For those of you who have Sky TV, and will be watching the game, I’ll be there next to my dad in the corner of the middle tier!!!
I managed to get a cheap train (yes there are still such things!!) up to Cardiff and as luck would have it Mum & Dad are returning to Cornwall on Sunday, so it would seem natural to get a lift home with them!!!
My addiction to Trackmania seems to be worsening, although my rankings are fluctuating at the moment. More on this later…
I finally gave in to ‘peer pressure’ and signed up with Facebook yesterday! I’d resisted so far but several individuals (you know who you are!!) have pestered me for so long, I gave in! It looks like taking me a while to master all the different aspects of it, although I’ve lasted the first 24 hours without any major problems and I’ve managed to get three friends!!!
Anyway, onwards and upwards, as they say.

C’est Bon!
Hey Hey!! We’re here! Half way through our holiday though. I was right when I said it would fly by!! We’re in an internet place in Beziers after a long day exploring.
This is the first (and probably last) time I will post something from abroad here, if for no other reason than the fact that it’s taken me ages to type when the letters are all in the wrong place!!!
So, au revoir from sunny France (it’s been mid 30°s all the time!!) and I’ll post more when we get back.

Looking Forward To Hols!!!
Well it’s that time of year again! Our holiday is just over a week away & as before time has stopped still! I bet when we are away it will do its usual thing & speed up to superspeed. The weather here has been surprisingly warm making work on the holiday park a bit uncomfortable – especially when I’m doing the strimming! With all the protection & clothing I’m actually shedding excess pounds albeit a bit at a time!
Switching to football for a moment if I may (oh goody I hear you cry!), we have triumphed in the Algarve Cup!! A 2-1 win against one of the Portuguese sides and a 1-0 win over Celtic has given us a great morale boost pre-season. The first league game is against Southampton but we’ll be away!! Oh well, that’s what Internet Cafes were invented for, isn’t it?
Anyhoos, chow for now – until next time….

It’s Been A While…
Well, it’s been a while since my last post. Many things have happened – far too many to go into detail. There have been bad moments – Nan died, my aunt got hit by a car, my cat was put down because his tumours returned. But there have also been positive moments. My daughter is very close to swimming on her own (she can swim with one arm band now!!), she’s getting very good on her bike (soon to be rid of the stabilisers!), the holiday park has had no major emergencies (that’s jinxed it now!!).
Well our stadium is well and truly on the way. You can check out the progress at http://www.cardiffcitystadium.co.uk/ and see up to date pictures. It’s a very exciting time as we’re about to begin our last year at Ninian Park. So many memories of the ground from my first match at 15 when we lost 3-1 to Tranmere, right up to my surprise birthday package from Manda a few years ago which included tickets to the game (which we ran away with!!!). Who says living in Cornwall you can’t follow the Bluebirds??!!!
Anyway, I’ve bored you all enough now. Cuppa tea awaits – boy do I sure know how to live!
